World Series Week!

Third Grade is ready to cheer our Giants on this week!
In addition, we will continue studying Religion, Spelling, Math, Reading, Social Studies, Science, Cursive, Spanish, and all those other things…

Have you noticed how nicely your student's cursive is looking?  They are working very hard now on learning to write their names in cursive script.  This week we will be practicing writing our spelling words in cursive during the week.  The weekly test, however, will still be in printing.

We have been learning about Jackie Robinson in our Reader.  Some of the 3rd graders were surprised to learn that he was a real person and not just a character in a movie!  We will spend some time this week investigating the real man behind the number 42.  It gives us a great research topic for World Series week!
Here is the link to one video I will be sharing with the class this week:  Jackie Robinson Video

Starting this week I will be sending home the Class Dojo reports with the students' graded work on Tuesdays.  It seems reasonable to cut down on the number of days you are looking for papers to sign, check off on, examine, etc.

This week in technology we will be investigating maps!  We will be using Brain Pop Jr. to assist us in our investigations.  If you want to join us, here is the link!  Brain Pop Geography

To aid in subtraction sometimes we use base ten blocks.  Here is an online set that we use in class to better understand regrouping.  These may help at home as well.  online manipulatives
You must choose grade 3 and base ten blocks to access this!
